| | Some thoughts on life. | | There are I expect, very few people who have not at some time questioned the meaning of life. Why are we here? What is our purpose? When we see loved ones join the vast majority who have finished this life, do we not wonder what, if anything, lies beyond? Some people find comfort in religion, others see nothing but the grave. We can however live life but one moment at a time and if we are to truly live, we can't spend that moment either regretting the past or worrying about the future. A friend reminded me recently that when we come into the world, we are crying, while everyone around us are smiling, "wouldn't it good" he said, "if we could live so that when we die, we are the one smiling while everyone around us are crying". After giving it some thought, I believe he has a point. If at the end of life we can look back with few regrets but many friends, and feel content with what we have done, than we have truly lived, and can look toward the great divide without fear or apprehension. | |
| | What are some of your favorite hymns? | | Our church is really into the new praise and worship music. I'm a part of the praise team and I am a big fan of contemporary Christian music too. But 2 weeks ago my church had an old-fashioned hymn sing! I think I was a kid the last time I went to one. We sang "victory in Jesus", "Blessed Assurance", "When we all get to heaven", "It will be worth it all (when we see Jesus)"and so many more. The men in the congregation were especially in rare form and occasionally we would split the verses with the women singing one verse and the men the next. What a way to worship and what a blessing to all who attended.What are some of your favorite old hymns? Do you have any stories associated with them that you can share? | |
| | An Awesome Reminder! | | Hello everyone!Just wanted to tell you that God loves you! No matter what you may have done or where you have been, HE loves you! He is waiting so patiently for you to come to Him. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die a very cruel and horrible death willingly for you! You can be saved right now!I know many may come on here with ugly remarks, but that is ok. Satan will try anything he can to bring God down, but he will fail! Jesus Christ already defeated him in death by rising again! We can too! Jesus Christ loves you so very much and we all need to repent of our sins and come to know Him as Lord and Savior! He is so good to us! There is not a single person on this earth or who has lived on this earth that He did not die for...not a single soul. We have the choice to accept His Gift of Salvation or to reject it. A life with Christ is the happiest and most fulfilling life there is. We have hope. Christ is our hope. He reconciled us to God. We were dead to God because of our sins, but now, because of Jesus Christ, we are reconciled to our Heavenly Father!
