| | I need tattoo ideas! | | My fiance' & I are having a tattoo artist at our wedding reception & are both going to get tattooed during the reception. I'm getting one of the tats the day before. But at the reception I want to get my wrists done. The trouble is, I can't think of anything to get & I've looked online for ideas and haven't really found anything... So I'm asking mylot for help. I'll tell you what I like & maybe someone can come up with some nifty design idea (if someone could actually DRAW it for me for free that would be even better, lol)ok, so it's going to be on my wrists so it needs to be something kinda simple, but badass...and not to big...I'm willing to consider ideas involving any combination of the following things:hearts
stars
dragonflies
cats
dogs
cat paw prints
dog paw prints
triquetra
cross
pentagram
celtic cross
cute skulls
bats(or any other cool ideas you guys may have!!)
| | | Collecting Chess Sets or other games | | My Dad taught me to play chess when I was eight and I continue to play when I get a chance. The chess board he taught me on was the first game he ever bought (age 14). It was a plastic set, but very heavy weights and very classical chess pieces. As I got older, I got some basic boards and travel sets...but I didn't start to collect chess boards until I left the country. Then I made it a habit to purchase a set in each country. Some examples:1. I bought a travel set in Scotland. Well, its compact but not good for traveling. The board and pieces were made of bone and were of the ancient pieces found in a bog on the island. The case is round and looks like a Celtic cross.
2. When I was in Turkey, I bout a beautiful Mercham (sic) chess board and carved pieces. This one had more of an "Indian" look with elephants...
3. In Saudi I bought a marble board. Not bad, just heavy. Light brown and heavy green. The shape was more blocky.
4. While in Korea, I bout a resin board of Asian design. The board is of a two headed dragon that sits about five inches above the ground. My kids love this one....I wish I had saw a set when I was in Iceland....In my travels I've picked up some...
| | How many tattoos do you have? | | How many tattoos do you have? What are they and where? I have 3. My first is by my pelvic bone of an open black rose with green stem and leaves. My second is on my left ankle-- picture of a celtic cross taken apart to make a design. And my third is on my right ankle a Pisces symbol in the middle for me and my two kids on each side of it-- cancer and gemini. | |
| | Can you see me now? LOL | | I have decided to change my avvy.
Not because I don't adore my dancing girl, but because this year has been a huge one for me in a lot of ways, and so I'm changing my avatars on all my sites to better reflect my belief system.
I have spent the better part of this year exploring my Pagan roots (Celtic Irish) and have become a solitary practicing Wiccan.
I was also born in the Chinese year of the Dragon which has been my motif in many things all my life.
So my new avvy depicts both. The Dragon and the celtic Cross. I tried to get sparks to emit from it, but no go. LOLWhat does your avvy mean to you?

I also have a small collection of military type games of various sorts. Does anyone have any older games, or collect any board games or types?

It kind of sucks, because I end up judged for the tats I have. The weird glances in the grocery store make me regret some of them. At the same time- I appreciate ALL art for...
| | Maggie's Heart | | I wrote a novel... Locked Hearts. It is the story of Maggie and Sam, who meet and in the span of a few days they love a lifetime's worth. And so the story goes.
In the story there is a Celtic pendant Sam gives Maggie. It is a Love Knot pendant called Maggie's Heart. It's based on characters in the story Locked Hearts, where two hearts are forever entwined, not knowing where one heart ends and the the other begins. One came in the mail today. I'd ordered it when I ordered this Celtic ring with a similar design. I got it I guess to hold on to, and to hang from my lamp next to a celtic cross pendant I have with polished heather in the center.
Here's a picture of Maggie's Heart. Kind of makes me want to start the story up again. ms like every time life might become boring or change is just due in some way or another- I end up getting a new tattoo.

At the same time- I appreciate ALL art for exactly what it is, and my body art is a part of me and who I am. I'm just as sweet and nice now as I was before I got them....
