This is why I am weary of being a donor
It wasn't until the last time I renewed my license that I finally agreed to be an organ donor, because if I Am not using my parts and someone can benefit, then I Am all for that..I provided the link, but it seems this guy was pronounced dead and he even heard the doctors saying that.. While his family was saying goodbye, he started moving his fingers and toes. But this story here shows why I didn't agree for many years and now that fear is coming back, to where I don't want to be a donor and I feel bad, because I know what it is like to have a loved one on a list for a transplant..So I Am really torn again. Do you have it set up that you will donate in case something happens? Does reading this story, change your outlook? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080324/ap_on_fe_st/not_dead
Good price for a laptop?
I have a friend, (same friend who sold me her camera, so I trust her), and her husband has this laptop she says I can buy from them for 50.00. It has the parent set up so unless I know someone, (which I do) that can take it off, I can only get on certain sites. Then today when I asked her about it again, she said that her husband will remove the card that allows internet access and that I can buy my own for 60.00. She doesn't know the name brand, but I am weary about this, especially since last year my sister-in-law got a laptop for 49.00 off craigslist. Plus we do have someone who is going to try to set us up with our XP, (found out it wasn't any good), so I might just wait until then because I do prefer a desk top. But to get my story up, I will take a laptop, which is why my friend offered her husbands. I even mentioned about borrowing it just until I can type out my story and save it to my flash drive..I wonder what would be in my best interest...
Tasks
Has anyone tried the task for 20.00? I am afraid to try it as It says click on donate and I am afraid I will lose money i don't have.If anyone has tried it please let me know if you got paid or if you lost money.IO can't see someone GIVING 20.00 for no cash at all. I am weary of the donate part.It says you can do this task as many times as you like.
i feel so stupid but for the past week i have been scared
to fall asleep. I cannot think of any reason why this is. I just feel scared to turn off the light and sleep. Isn't it irrational? I am not afraid of dying or anything like that. Every night I pray and ask God to forgive any sins that I may have committed that day. So it is not death - as death to me, is just entering into life as it was meant to be.I have actually been taking Tylenol pm to help me fall asleep more quickly. The thing is that I am weary and need to sleep as I don't cope too well if I am sleep deprived. I have stopped drinking coffee after 1o am in the mornings so I c=am not wired from caffeine or anything - just scared. So what do you think it could be?
What is the tallest tree you have ever climbed?
I have climbed with 10 feet as the tallest tree. not more than that. i am weary climbing on trees. i do that with caution cause i don't want to injure myself . i used to climb trees when i was young but not any more as we don't have trees here in my place. only in my relatives if far place do i get to climb trees. anyways, there are some people who climb a very tall coconut trees to get the fruit. i am amazed how they are able to climb such a tall coconut tree like it is about 50 feet tall or more. quite scary to look at them climbing up and down the tree.
What keeps you going?
With a lot of pressure around us, there are times that I am weary and seems that I feel heaviness in my heart. It seems that I can no longer make another step. Yet, I find comfort in the love of God. I think it's the reason I can still go on, keep on, even during those trying times in life. I know that all of us have been to a similar situation. And so what makes you strong to keep on going, despite all those storms and trials in life?[em]lol[/em]
i want to work from home
i am trying to find a work at home job, with no luck. i have a lot of different interests and just don't see where i can make money with any of them. At least not enough money to be self sufficient. i am weary of opportunities i find on the internet or in the paper. does anyone work at home? can i get some ideas? and just as a note, my hobbies are:reading, crocheting, internet browsing, cooking, various crafts. can you think of anything i could make money doing concerning these things?
How do you store cd/dvd's?
Well i like to store the cd or dvds as images on my hard disk because i am weary of keeping a case or bag for them and then having to look for them for hours. But now i think it is costing me a lot as i have a 160gb hdd full of images but even then i cannot stop myself from making images as they offer many benefits like easy searching and they are always at hand. How do you store yous cds and dvds?
Questions about Climate Science
I am interested to talk to someone who really knows the global warming science, preferrably someone working in the field. (Not some hippy who's read about it on the internet.) Can anyone condense the arguments down for me, or do I have to dig through the scientific literature myself? There seems to be growing suspicion of the anthropogenic argument, and I always am weary of scientists who are also activists---i.e. a large number of climate scientists seem to be making activist/alarmist claims. At the same time, certain parts of the polar regions are changing significantly, and it seems that there ARE documentable changes occuring.Main questions: How do climate scientists estimate the effects of carbon and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere? It's fairly trivial to show that carbon dioxide causes a greenhouse effect in a plexiglass box with a good thermometer, but how does this translate into a large scale system like the atmosphere? How do climate models work, given that the climate is a nonlinear system? That is, very small changes in initial conditions lead to drastically different final states. This tells me that the computer simultations people do are highly...
Weary .
Apologies in advance.I dont know whether it is just me but I am weary when I look at news. I am tired at being fed half-baked analysis shorn of history. I get miserable at the trite phrases that journalists allow to trip of their tongues.Where to start - well why not Iraq:I have yet to see any analysis of the invasion and its subsequent problems that refers to two fundamental issues that were always going to prevent the Iraqis welcoming the "allies" with open arms as opposed to loaded arms.1. Just after the first Gulf War for Kuwait the US administration called for Iraqis to rise up against Saddam. In both the northern Kurdish areas and in the southern Shiite areas the people took what weapons they had and did just that. And then they were massacred. 2. In the aftermath of the failed uprisings sanctions were imposed on Iraq and many thousands died as a result. Madeline Albright, then Secretary of State, was asked if the deaths of thousands of children was a worthwhile price to pay said on balance it probably was. If you were Iraqi and opposed to Saddam and you had survived all of this what would you feel. What if you had spent time in Abu-Ghraib when it...
