Lily of the Valley
This shot is of some of the Lily of the Valley's that I transplanyted a week ago. One has the bells forming already. The flowers don't last long is the only set back but I love their look when in full bloom. Do you like or have Lily of the Valley? What flowers do you have in your yard etc? Lily Of The Valley
Last year I had 5 Lily of the Valleys growing out front. Well today I now noticed I have maybe a couple dozen or more spreading all over the flower bed. More work as far as seperating and spreading these to make for a better looking presence it seems. Now I have yet to do my Lilies now I have these to seperate etc. Uggghh! It took me 4 years to seperate and transplant my Hostas. Can you ofeer advice as to when would be the best time of year to transfer these to another area? Do you have many flowers/plants this year that need to be thinned out and transplanted? This phot is one of 2 pockets I have of Lily Of The Valley growing. There is 13 plants in this cluster. What kind of flowers do you have in your yard?
I was just curious to see what are the different kinds of flowers the different users here on myLot have In Their yards. This year we are staying at a different property, and the other perenials that were here were a couple of evergreen bushes, some lily of the valley, and a rose bush. We planted petunias, and the ones In The back of the house are doing quite well, but the ones In The front don't get much sunlight, so they aren't growing much. What about you? What types of flowers do you have in your yard? Are they annuals or perenials? Did you plant them new this year?
Birthstones and Flower of the Month
Hello there, do you know your birthstones and its meaning? And do you know the flower of your birth month? I was born in May and my birthstone is emerald which means happiness and the flower for May is Lily of the Valley. But I don't know its meaning. Maybe someone can add a meaning to it. Thanks!
Even Closer
Here is a nice close up shot of one of my Lily of the Valley bell flowers. I love this shot as it almost looks like one could reach out and pluck a bell or toll one for their love. I just wanted to share this here today was all. Any criticism is appreciated as well. Thanks all in advance. Also if you look rally closely at the 3rd bell up from the bottom you can see a raindrop on it as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~
ells Are Ringing
My Lily of the Valley's have some flowers finally. I have about 20 and maybe 5 or 6 have flowers on them. The weather here has played havok on everythings grwoing season so these are really late for Minnesota. the temps today are 20 degrees below normal. It's only 52 right now at 2 p.m. Is weather making things grow a lot slower for you? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Foods and Plants that are toxic to your dog
I heard that grapes were toxic to dogs, so while my husband was out running errands he stopped at the vets office and asked him. he said only the ones that are used to make raisins. Here's a list of additional foods and plants he gave us. This is by no means a complete list.I know it's long and I've been accused of being boring when I try to give information. Yes, it may be boring but it can save your dogs life. Please copy and keep where you can easily reach it. I have another list with more plants that are toxic to dogs. Interesting Food Facts
This is a bunch of random facts about food. I'm a trove of useless information and a info junkie so I thought I'd share some of these interesting facts I've compiled. My friends at Yuwie are used to this sort of thing, when I find enough trivia on a general subject I post it as a blog. It makes for good reading and we all learn something we didn't know before. Tell me what you think? Is it worth doing here at myLot? Is it interesting? Boring?Well, Here Goes:Almonds are a member of the peach family. In the vegetable realm, only asparagus and rhubarb can reproduce on their own for several growing seasons. All other vegetables must be replanted every year. Because Napoleon believed that armies marched on their stomachs, he offered a prize in 1795 for a practical way of preserving food. The prize was won by a French inventor, Nicholas Appert. What he devised was canning. It was the beginning of the canned food industry of today. Soft drinks are American's favorite beverage. Water ranks #2, and milk is #3. The average American drinks about 52 gallons of soft drinks per year. Every year, Bavarians and their guests drink 1.2 million gallons of beer during...
