In fact, other than making certain that the house is safe for your toddler should he sleepwalk during a night terror and sitting by to see that he doesn't hurt himself while tharashing around, there's little you can do when an episode of night terror strikes. If one strikes again (and it won't necessarily), don't hug your child or hold him down; doing so will only make him more agitated--and he may even push you away. Don't try to wake him up, either, no matter how frantic he seems, as this will only prolong the event. Instead, just watch and wait. Night terrors generally end ten to thrity minutes after they begin, at which time your toddler should calm down (w/o making) and you'll be able to tuck him back into bed for a...
I am asking this to all you parents out there, because I have a 1 year old little boy, and he is into everything like most toddlers are... he picks up on things really quickly, like where certain things are kept, what certain things do, and how to open certain things etc... But a few minutes ago my little man was in the kitchen playing with the cat, as he does, and I was in the living room with my eldest... next thing I know... the washing machine had started and I knew no one had turned it on, so I went to investigate, and low and behold, my little man had taken all my fridge magnets off the fridge and put them in the washing machine, and turned it on and started a cycle... now I am going to have to be very careful and make sure that kitchen door gets closed!!! So what are the most cleverest things your toddler has done that has taken you by surprise a little?
Yesterday my DD2 didn't have a nap, she's very big on napping. However, she has a hard time napping on the weekends so she missed her nap yesterday. So getting her to bed was quite the chore as she was having a tantrum for well over an hour over some brownies it got too late to make. Well when she finally fell asleep, I was happy... I thought everything was fine. Then about an hour ago she woke up just screaming and wasn't very nice to say the least. Kicked her sister out of bed and just plain wigging out. I know there's nothing you can do but ride it out... I was hoping to never see one of those again! So I am up right now @ 1am giving her some time to get back to sleep fully & get DD1 back to sleep as well. Have you ever delt with a toddler night terror?
Today I'm feeding my nephew of 2years old, going 3 this July. I have noticed that children of this age are tough to feed (same goes for the other mother-friends I have). We all need to be creative, we need to be tough and yet gentle enough to encourage the child to eat.It's funny that I am writing this one since I'm not a parent myself. But helping out my sister-in-law in feeding this kid is sometimes frustrating but most of the time equally challenging.Today I don't have problems feeding him. I have resorted to allowing him to watch television or play computer games while feeding so as he'd get food on that tummy. Otherwise, it'll be unending running and catching up on him.What are your feeding tactics and strategies?
When did you get your toddler off the bottle? My daughter is 3yrs old and it's only last month that we've switch to a sippy cup. How did you make your child transfer from feeding bottle to glass and at what age?
On Easter my 2 year old little girl was trying to help me make cupcakes. She was standing on her little chair when she fell off of the chair. Well I went into Mommy Mode wisked her of the floor and held her and comforted her. I held her for about 40 mins and she wanted to go see her Papa (grandpa) but didn't want to walk to him. So I carried her to him still not thinking anything was up. After that we realized that she would not stand on one of her legs so we took her to the ER. They took a x-ray and told me that she fractured her fibula. Because of insurance issues I couldn't get her to an Orthopedic Pediatrician until today. He told me that she probably had a toddler fracture. Toddler fractures do alway show up on x-rays until after it begins to start healing. We put a cast on her because I would rather over react rather than under react. Does anyone else have experiences with toddler fractures or casts on toddlers?
My two year old mostly drinks juice and very little water. I have been meaning to ask the doctor but haven't had an appointment in a long time. Does anyone here know?
i now have a toddler. my daughter just turned a year old 9 days ago and she seems to be developing so many things in just several days.whereas she used to have tantrums whenever we clean her nose, she now has realized that cleaning her nose from snot will help her to breathe better and thus she allows us to wipe her nose and even aspirate it.additionally, she already wants to use her own spoon. the problem is, her coordination is not yet that well so of course all the food has landed on the floor. but if we dont give her the spoon, she would just scream. how do you deal with a fast developing toddler??? please help me. i am at a loss.take care all and God bless you!:D

and in his old age suddenly came back to you to ask help, would you accept him or help him? Or you'd turn him down & left him even if it means that, that was the last time of seeing him ...How compassionate are you, how forgiving can you be??
a 20 year old women is on probation and has to take a drug test. She is on probation for drugs. How ironic? She gets help from her friends 4 year old son by using his urine. Now the mother of the child was on probation for fraud and theft conviction. They make a great pair don't they? I am sorry I would not let my be used as a tool in any activity to save no one from themselves or activity that is not appropriate for my child to be in. This not one of them! These women need to take care of themselves and think about the harm they caused this innocent child that does not have his mommy? Is a friend worth possibly losing your child?
