| The Book Prayer of Jabez | | I am so much blessed by The Book Prayer of Jabez. This book is an exposition on the prayer of Jabez found in I Chronicles 4:10; 'Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hands be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain. And God granted his request.' This book was beautifully written by Bruce Wilkinson.
I found The Book very inspiring and rich in insights. I thought at first that Jabez was selfish in praying his prayer. But after reading The Book I am convinced that I should also pray the same prayer if I wanted to do the will of God in my life and that God will be glorified in my life. The Prayer of Jabez is designed for all followers of Christ who want to do great exploits for the Kingdom of God. The prayer of Jabez should be prayed by every Christian who don't want to settle for anything less other than God's best.

| | Dr Seuss The Butter Battle Book, have you or would you let your kids read it? | | During the time it was written it was more directed at the cold war but do you think it still holds any relevance to today's political climate? The story involves two different communities who are basically the same but one likes butter on top of their bread and the other on the bottom. As the war between them escalates they come up with more outrageous weapons till in the end there is a face off with each side waiting to destroy the other side.than God's best.

I'm interested in starting one of these, just not the ones I named. I need to make extra income badly but I'm not quite sure how. I have a job with not so good hours and I have to go around my boyfriends work schedule because we have six kids and definetly can't afford a sitter.
I need to work from home, which would be best but don't know any good jobs that I am able to do that.

| Book of Eli, is there metaphor? | | I just done watching that movie "Book of Eli", I just wonder is there any metaphor at this movie? Denzel Washington is the guy who protect this Bible and hopefully bring it to a rightful place and spread its teachings. While the bad guy also in need of this book for whole different purpose. The bad has a master plan of using this book to control people's mind and heart. "It is a weapon" like he said.
So, a religion can be used as weapon in controlling people's mind to do the harm? Like the terrorist using religion to control those suicide bombers who blindly sacrifice themselves in believing they are doing their God's will. That just sad. Maybe we should look at religion in a whole different angle. than God's best.

| the book from planet weird | | I love Stephen King novels. It's like they came from the mind of a person who lives in a different planet from ours. There are stories so grotesque that you wouldn't believe that it's possible to be written but there it is opened by your own hand and your enjoying the fact that it's giving you the goosebumps. I saw the move some years ago, but reading the book really helped me to understand what exactly Palahniuk is trying to get to with his books. Though very easy to read, I think Palahniuk is a truly accomplished writer that has an approach to writing like no other. A lot of people don't realize that his books delve much deeper than their surface stories, which is made clear in Fight Club, a novel that outright speaks against the established civilization of the modern world.What is your favorite book by Palahniuk?Fight Club wins my vote | |
