My favoriate book is "How to win friends and influence people"I read it two years ago and bought a book in person the beginning of last year.

One book changed mine, it is Dale Carnegie's book HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE/
It really gives me quite a lot of benefits. After I read that book, I became appreciate life more and what is more amazing that I began to handle my relationship with others.

My dad was a big fan of Dale Carnegie and he would quote the book How to Win Friends and Influence People to raise a point about something that relates to how people think and act. I guess that some of that love for self-help must have rubbed on me because I often find myself browsing the self-help section of the local bookstore. As a young boy I would get irritated whenever he would give one of his life's lessons. Have you felt that way?
It has been a long time since i got acquainted with mylot and now when i am actually starting my innings here. I wish to start with an account of a wonderful book that i read recently - How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie.
I have always believed that humility is critical for a successful and enriching life. What could be better than getting other people enjoy your success? Humility creates a synergistic effect and enchances one's capability. This book essentially talks of a 9 step model to make onself humble. Technical as it may sound but that's what i can make out.
Let's begin with the first priciple: "Begin with praise and honest appreciation". Healthy Criticism-I personally feel that it is a mythical phrase. Criticism forces a person to become defensive and makes him react aggressively. But i could start a conversation with a genuine praise than i can make the person positive towards me.Criticism breeds hostility while positivity breeds acceptance. I am not tying to say that one should indulge in saccharine talks an hide his opinion but only if onecould find one genuine quality about somebody and build the conversation on that, there is every probbility...

I think it is definitely relevant, especially if you are talking about how to win friends and influence people, it's even more useful and relevant today, just adapt it to modern day circumstances. What do you think?
I read the story behind making of "How to win friends and influence people " in the same book.I was shocked reading it as it resembles a tragic story of the writer himself.I liked the book with some condition.It is very difficult to win a friend without similar tragedy in life.
This is the moral I found in this book.

I used to live in Costa Rica. I lived there for 4 and a half years.. It was a good place, but for some reason it really went downhill... It's over-americanized, and San Jose has become a real cesspool..It used to be that the Ticos were friendly, but as of late they've become very xenophobic in my opinion, and what they are doing to foreigners (Especially Nicaraguans) is appalling.. For example: One of my best friends (Actually consider her more of a sister) and my mother were crossing the Nicaraguan/Costa Rican border.. My mother went through the line, but they weren't going to let my friend pass.. Until my mother complained then they reluctantly let her through..It's not just Nicaraguans they treat badly at the border though, it seems to be everyone. My brother and Father went through along with my mother to update their Visas for Nicaragua, and they got an icy reception, and I was told they THREW the passports back at them! Definately not the way to win friends and influence people!I have to things to say to Costa Rica.. GROW UP!
